So... about that "crafternoon"...

Ladies, life is way too crazy! I cannot believe that summer is coming to an end. Some days, I must admit, I am grateful it is, while other days, I look back and think, "I intended to do so much more!"
Right now, I look at my calendar...I see that this week, the week I had told some of you we would be doing our advent calendar... it looks like it just can't happen if there is only one of me, and if you want to continue having fun with me.
Keep watching to find out when... right now I can only say it will be after Lake Powell (YES!!!) and when school is in. We do have some time before Christmas!

My foster child (the cricut...)

My foster child, the cricut, makes for some pretty fun projects...
Cutting vinyl is a blast!

Fresh Peach Cobbler

I completely forgot I bought peaches earlier this week! I had to use them... what better way!?

Fruit Cobbler:

3 cups sliced fruit
2 tablespoons butter
2/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Place fruit in a greased 8x8 or 9x9 pan. Melt butter and add sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Mix well and spread over fruit, then top with this mixture:

1 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1/3 cup oil
1 egg

As usual, mix dry and then add wet. Cover the entire top of fruit and sugar mixture and bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes. We love to eat it warm with vanilla ice cream.

scrappernoon!

Stacy and the boys came over for a while today. The kids had fun playing, we had fun scrapping and making cards... lots of cards...
I got two pages for our "best of..." family album done:

Played with the Cricut that Darlene is allowing me to be the foster parent of. I got one new font cartridge and one on the way thanks to the rebate offer! I bought some vinyl too.. can't wait to try that out. We learned our lesson fast, the mat must be sticky!

Latest craft...

This is the first project I used my new Xyron on...
The Xyron is awesome... you can feed paper through, and depending on the cartridge, put permanent adhesive on the back (which I did to these letters), put re-positionable adhesive on it, laminate both sides, laminate top with adhesive on the back, or laminate the top with magnet on the back. It uses no power or batteries, and is awesome!!! I have had the smallest version for years and loved it but was limited to using about 1 1/2 inch things. It makes these projrcts a lot easier, it takes up to 9 inch wide paper. Cut drying time on this. I didn't have to modge podge letters on and then wait for it to dry before applying the diamond glaze...I did get inspiration from Julie's pantry door...
And found a new use for these embellishments..

My monthly allowance...

I've already spent August's allowance...
Let me explain:
I love to scrapbook (and craft)...
Mer loves music..
We needed to put a limit so we both don't go crazy, or one go crazy and the other one resent it, so we introduced the "spousal allowance program" in our home. Seems silly since he earns just about all of it... ;)
$50.00 that's enough...
I've spent mine, on the first day of the month...But I did it for a bargain... Retail price: $119.00.
Robert's coupon for 50% off one item (Xyron NOT being an exclusion...)
I got it for $60.00... the sales women was quite certain that I couldn't do it... but I could!
Not bad!

consolatory prizes...

for those of you who didn't win the prize for the 14 day challenge... i.e. if you are not Christie... here's your consolation prize:
I got Stacy's to her, Jaclyn's to her and Tiff's to Jacks to get to Tiff...
I forgot to give Brooker's hers today... will get Randee hers... and send off Ally's!
